Jozay Longden

Clinical Psychologist | Hypnotherapist

Jozay Longden is a registered clinical psychologist and clinical hypnotherapist with extensive experience providing psychological and psychotherapeutic services in Perth. Passionate about unlocking the potential of the subconscious mind, Jozay brings a unique and expansive toolbox of techniques to her practice. She works with individuals, adolescents, couples, and groups across clinical, not-for-profit, and private practice settings.

A graduate of Oxford University, Jozay also holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from Notre Dame University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Murdoch University. She is also certified by the Australian Academy of Hypnosis in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.

Jozay has developed a comprehensive and integrative approach to working with the subconscious mind, drawing on a wide array of evidence-based techniques to help clients uncover, process, and transform deep-seated patterns.

Jozay’s toolbox includes:

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy – Hypnotherapy is one of Jozay’s cornerstone techniques for accessing the subconscious, enabling clients to bypass the critical mind and directly engage with the root causes of challenges.
  • Mindfulness Practices  – Jozay uses mindfulness to help clients cultivate present-moment awareness and attunement, fostering a calm and focused mental state that allows the subconscious mind to surface naturally.
  • Somatic Therapies – By integrating body-based approaches, Jozay helps clients access stored trauma and emotional blocks that often reside below conscious awareness, allowing for deeper healing through the body-mind connection.
  • Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy – Jozay has a keen interest in the transformative potential of psychedelics to access the subconscious. Her experience includes working on psilocybin trials for treatment-resistant depression, and she provides both psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration support to help clients maximize their insights from these profound experiences.

By tailoring her approach to each client’s unique needs, Jozay leverages these tools to facilitate meaningful and lasting change. Whether through mindful presence, somatic exploration, hypnosis, or psychedelic work, Jozay creates a safe and supportive space for clients to delve into their subconscious and uncover new pathways for healing and growth.

Jozay’s integrative approach fosters a state of relaxation, safety, and curiosity, enabling clients to explore their subconscious mind with confidence. By blending neuroscience, psychodynamic principles, and her diverse therapeutic techniques, she helps clients reframe limiting beliefs, process unresolved emotions, and access inner resources that promote psychological well-being.

Her work is grounded in an interpersonal neurobiology framework, emphasizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and relationships in shaping emotions, behaviours, and memory. Jozay’s clients often experience a deeper connection to themselves and others as they heal subconscious patterns.

Jozay believes that the therapeutic relationship is central to healing. Inspired by existential therapist Irvin Yalom’s idea that “it is the relationship that heals” , Jozay establishes a warm, empathetic, and collaborative space where clients feel deeply supported.

Her focus on cultivating mindfulness, self-compassion, and positive emotions empowers clients to develop the inner tools necessary for self-awareness, resilience, and personal transformation.

At the heart of Jozay’s practice is her passion for working with the subconscious. She believes that the subconscious holds the key to resolving deeply entrenched patterns and fostering profound personal transformation. By integrating mindfulness, somatic therapies, hypnosis, and psychedelics, Jozay offers a dynamic and holistic approach to unlocking the subconscious mind.
